Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What’s the difference between Raymond RJ50N and RJ50P pallet jacks?
A: Both models have the same design and 5,500 lb capacity. The difference is wheel material: RJ50N uses nylon wheels, while RJ50P uses polyurethane wheels. Nylon rolls easier under heavy loads and handles rough floors well, but it’s louder. Polyurethane is quieter, offers better floor protection, and grips smooth floors better. Choose the wheel type that matches your application.
Q: Are nylon wheels better than polyurethane for pallet jacks?
A: Neither nylon nor polyurethane wheels are inherently "better"; the best choice depends on your operating environment, with nylon wheels excelling in heavy-duty industrial settings due to their durability and strength, while polyurethane wheels are preferable for smooth surfaces, offering better floor protection, quieter operation, and a smoother ride. Consider the load, floor type, and need for noise reduction when making your decision.
Q: My pallet jack’s load wheels have small metal ramps attached – does this kit include those?
A: No. The GWK-RJ50N-LW kit includes wheels, bearings, axles, and nuts, but not entry/exit ramp pieces or dust guards. If your jack has metal ramp caps or debris guards, inspect and reuse them during installation. If damaged, they must be purchased separately.
Q: Do the wheels in this kit come with bearings already installed?
A: Yes. Each nylon load wheel comes with pre-pressed ball bearings.
Q: My Raymond pallet jack also needs steer wheels. Is that included here?
A: No. This kit only includes the smaller load wheels at the fork tips. The larger steer wheels at the handle end are sold separately or as part of the complete kit (GWK-RJ50N-CK). If your steer wheels are worn, consider replacing them at the same time for balanced performance.
