It features a smooth, flat-tread rubber tire bonded to a steel hub, with an overall size of 10 inches in diameter, 4 inches in width, and 6.5 inches in hub height (10×4×6½ inches). This assembly comes pre-mounted on the hub with the bearing already pressed in, making it quick and straightforward to swap out the drive wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What material is the tire made of, and will it mark the floor?

A: It's made of high-quality black rubber, offering excellent traction. Like most rubber tires, it may leave light marks on floors. For non-marking needs, Crown offers a polyurethane alternative (e.g., part CR127249).

Q: Is this a press-on tire or a full assembly?

A: It's a complete pre-assembled unit with a rubber tire bonded to a steel hub and bearing installed—no press tools needed. Just remove the old wheel and install this one.

Q: How long will it last?

A: Typically 1–2 years with moderate use. Inspect regularly for wear, flat spots, or separation. Replace if the diameter reduces by ~10% or the traction decreases.

Q: What does “smooth flat” tire mean?

A: “Smooth flat” describes the tire’s tread profile. It means the tire has a smooth surface (no grooves or tread pattern) and a flat profile across its width.

Q: Can I use this tire assembly in wet or outdoor conditions?

A: While the rubber compound tire provides decent traction on slightly wet surfaces compared to polyurethane, a smooth rubber tire can still slip if the floor is very wet or oily. It’s primarily designed for indoor use on clean, dry floors.
