Product Description
The 681-042/100 mast leaf chain is a heavy-duty BL844 leaf chain designed for the mast lifting mechanism of electric pallet jacks and forklift trucks. It features a 1.000″ pitch with a 4×4 lacing configuration, meaning four link plates per row for high load capacity.
This chain is sold per foot and cut to your required length (the OEM standard supply is a 100-ft bulk spool). Each order is custom-cut to specified lengths and is non-cancelable and non-refundable.
The chain is manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel for high tensile strength (~40,100 lb ultimate) and excellent wear resistance. It ensures reliable vertical lifting by maintaining proper mast alignment and load distribution.

Q: Can this mast chain be used on other brands of forklifts or pallet jacks?
A: Yes. The chain itself meets a common BL844 specification, which is used by multiple manufacturers. Many Crown, Hyster, Yale, CAT, Mitsubishi and other forklifts use BL844 leaf chains in their masts, though they have different part numbers. For example, Hyster part number 3041950 and Yale 220006108 correspond to a BL844 chain. As long as your equipment calls for a BL844 leaf chain (check your manual or existing chain), this product will be compatible.
Q: How is this chain sold – do I need to buy a whole 100 ft roll?
A: We sell it per foot, so you can order exactly the length you need. There is no requirement to buy a full spool if you don’t need that much. (The original OEM listing was a 100 ft bulk chain, but we cut chains to order.) Simply specify the number of feet required for your mast. Note: Be sure to order a few extra inches to account for any overlap or anchoring needs.
Q: Does the chain include connecting links or pins for installation?
A: The chain is provided as a continuous length of link assemblies and does not include separate connecting links or anchor pins. In many forklift mast designs, the chain ends are secured with clevis pins or anchor bolts (not a master link like roller chains). You should inspect your existing chain attachment hardware – if those components are worn, consider replacing the chain anchors or pins at the same time. (We offer compatible anchor kits separately.)
Q: How should I maintain and lubricate the mast chain?
A: It is very important to keep the chain clean and lubricated. Regularly apply a quality chain lubricant along the length of the chain to minimize wear.
Q: When do I need to replace my mast chain?
A: Leaf chains should be replaced if they show signs of significant wear or elongation. A common rule is to replace the chain once it has elongated by 2–3% of its original length.
